Following The Boris Roadmap

We are planning to return to weekend club rides and also Wednesday evening sessions at Yarborough as soon as Active Nation open up the facility and we can be confident that all will be Covid Safe.

Confirmation of dates will be posted as soon as we know

To ensure that we can comply with BC rider safety and safeguarding requirements, ALL fully paid up club riders will be issued personal helmet QR code stickers when they collect their 2021 race number.

Each rider needs to register their QR code which will provide both Medical and ICE information in case of incident/accident ( The details on how to do this are provided with the stickers).
Having this sticker fitted and registered will be a condition of riding at both coaching sessions and club rides.
An annual subscription fee of only £1.00 is required to maintain this fantastic and necessary facility.

Due to the ongoing uncertainties and possibility of yet more restrictions, we intend to run all Club events/sessions as simply as possible this year...

As previously, we will run alternate weeks of Coaching (BC) and Racing (TLI).
Everyone will need to ensure that they have updated their Club membership, BC and TLI subscriptions ahead of the Wednesday night sessions.

The 2021 race weeks will probably occur during July and August. Due to the limited times available/club events that need covering, they will ONLY be open to club members.
All Youth, Junior and Senior levels will be catered for and these races will hopefully include the annual club championships and races.

Senior Coach: Roger Hobby

Andy Frazer has now qualified as a Level 3 coach and will be available to selected riders for advice and training planning.

We now have two newly trained and accredited members of the team.
A warm welcome to: Karen O’Connor and Meg Carpenter. They will be joined by Marc Whyatt in the very near future.

LCRL events are scheduled to continue in 2021 from May. We are due to host the 10th July event and your assistance will be requested to make it a great day, once again.
Dean Hughes and the team from BC are hoping to run additional support and coaching sessions for Ladies/Girls – These will be followed up by Ladies only races.

Hopefully our association with Lincoln Wheelers and their TT schedule will continue this year.

From 29th March, BC affiliated clubs can host club runs of up to 15 riders.
With this in mind, it is our intention to return to weekend rides as soon as possible.
Each ride will be posted on the Facebook page. To ensure that we can comply with group sizes and wait for attending riders, we ask that you all accept the invite (for every ride you intend to join).

If more than 15 accept the invite, we will organise separate groups, start times and ride leaders.

Saturday - Lincs FM ride - 10am start.
All younger riders and parents are welcome to join Roger and Andy for a ride to Bardney and back. Better riders will also do some road riding.

Saturday Seniors Ride - Yarborough Sports Centre Entrance - 9am start.
A ride for competent riders that can maintain a 20mph average over 50+ miles
Routes are generally designed relative to the wind direction or requirement for climbing efforts

Sunday Club Ride - Yarborough Sports Centre Entrance - 9am start.
A ride for all seniors and invited youth riders that can maintain 16-17mph average over 50+ miles.
Routes are generally designed relative to the wind direction or requirement for climbing efforts. Where youth/junior riders join, we will adjust their groups ride length/duration as necessary.
As restrictions ease and the weather improves, we will be adding coffee stops and other distractions to encourage a more relaxed and sociable ride.

Parent-guardian note: All youth riders will be returned to Yarborough, unless they are competent and have your written permission to peel off and make their own way home.

If you have any questions please get in touch with one of the coaches contact details are on this website.

Look forward to riding with you again soon.

Covid Update 25th August

There was a committee meeting last night, following contact from Yarborough regarding the resumption of some sporting activities.

It has been a long summer of lockdown, riding solo, furlough and missing everyone. We know that most of you have been really keen to get back to some form of training, racing and social riding, but we really appreciate your patience and compliance with Government and BC guidelines.

All of the scheduled TLI racing and expected Lincs League CycloCross have been CANCELLED for 2020/21. Only limited Time Trials and strictly controlled events are currently taking place, alongside various club rides like those organised by the Pain Train and Greetwell gang.

It was agreed that with the updated advice from BC, we can resume some coaching activities and club rides....... SO - here we go:

Though nothing is currently planned for track/road coaching at Yarborough in 2020 - Keep watching for some possible announcements.

There will be NO Turbo coaching in what remains of 2020 and NO access to the Hub, so all toilet and changing facilities will be hosted within the main building.

If we have a successful planning meeting tomorrow with Yarborough. We fully intend to resume CX training sessions from Wednesday 9th September
Due to the current Coronavirus situation, We are looking at adopting a weekly online registration, payment and Covid Declaration for all sessions. This will reduce the need for signing on, form filling and cash payments.

If successful, we may well adopt this process for all future TLI races and events.

All youth and senior riders will be welcome so please pass the invite on to local clubs and riders as we have done previously.
VCL members will get access to all coaching at NO cost (registration and COVID declarations will still be required)
Invited clubs will be required to pay a nominal fee to assist with the cost of track hire and facilities.

Weekly / Club Rides:

Youth (Rogers) Rides will continue on Saturdays at 10am in the LINCS FM Carpark.

Dependant on numbers, Covid compliant groups will be allocated and set off at 5 minute intervals, with at least one senior ride leader / parent for each group.

Seniors Saturday ChainGang will resume at 9am from the Yarborough Main gates. Dependant on numbers, Covid compliant groups will be set off and MUST maintain distancing from other groups. A 20mph average is normally expected with distances between 50-70 miles. Routes will hopefully be posted by Pete English via facebook as previously. These can be downloaded as TCX files and used to keep all groups on track.

The VC Club Ride will resume at 9am from the Yarborough main gates. Dependant on numbers, Covid compliant groups will be set off and MUST maintain distancing from other groups. A steadier average is normally expected and distances can be adjusted depending on group ability levels, allowing the attendance of younger riders and those who do not want faster rides.

There are currently a number of rides hosted by The Pain Train and Greetwell CC including the Thursday Night Chain Gang/Lamp Ride as well as Sleaford and Lincoln Wheelers Time Trials.

Rick Lister hosts on-line racing for all age groups and abilities via RGT on Wednesday evenings at 7pm and there are numerous Zwift sessions hosted by BC and others.

Hopefully we will also have news of further club races and championships - being hosted on-line for 2020.

The Coaching Team and Committee will keep you updated as we are able to open up more club activities.
